Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars

Please tell me I'm not the only one that binge watched season 2 of Orange is the New Black over the weekend? Don't worry - no spoilers. But I will say it was just as good, if not better, than the first season.

The down side? Now I have to wait like a whole year for a new season. Not fair.

Because of my very important Netflix commitment, I made a quick no-bake dessert. These Cheerios bars are perfect - simple ingredients, simple to make, and a delicious little treat. I love rice krispie bars as much as the next guy, but I love mixing up the cereal and ingredients to make them a little different.

Plus eating the leftovers stuck on the spoon and bowl is a nice perk.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios Bars

6 cups Multi Grain Cheerios
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
10 ounces marshmallows
1/2 cup Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter
1 1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips

Lightly butter a 9 x 13 pan. Measure out 6 cups of cereal. Set both aside.

In a large microwave safe bowl, combine unsalted butter, marshmallows, and peanut butter. Microwave on high for 60 seconds, stir, and microwave an additional 30 seconds until melted. Pour in cereal and stir quickly to combine. Stir in 1 cup milk chocolate chips.

Dump into prepared 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top and use a spatula, or your hands, to press cereal mixture into the pan.

Let bars set for 30 minutes or so before serving. Store in an airtight container.
