Peanut Butter Pretzel Nugget Puppy Chow

Peanut Butter Pretzel Nugget Puppy Chow - save the chex and use PB filled pretzel nuggets instead!

Puppy chow, muddy buddies, whatever you call it. Save the chew mix and use Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets instead! What!?!? Yep, I went there.

I've been pinning a lot of puppy chow variations lately and they all make me drool. When the idea to use pretzel nuggets popped into my head, it couldn't wait. Like, I went to Costco on my lunch break to buy the pretzels.

It is just as easy to make as the standard puppy chow, but a million times better. I love the combo of sweet and salty and who doesn't like a little extra peanut butter.

You HAVE to give this one a try. It would be a perfect snack for the Holidays, or any day.

Peanut Butter Pretzel Nugget Puppy Chow

18 cups Peanut Butter Pretzel Nuggets
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3-4 cups powdered sugar

Pour pretzel nuggets into a large bowl. (I always use my big ol' Tupperware bowl for puppy chow.)

In a microwave save bowl, pour in chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir, and microwave in 30 seconds bursts until mixture is smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.

Pour mixture over pretzel nuggets and stir with a large spoon to fully coat all the nuggets. Sprinkle 2 cups powdered sugar on top of chocolate coated nuggets, seal lid, and shake container to spread the powdered sugar around.

Open container and break up any large chunks. Add another cup of powdered sugar, seal lid, and shake one more time. Eat right away, or allow mixture to set for 30-60 minutes before serving.

I like to add one more cup of powdered sugar before serving to make it extra sugary. ;)
