The Best Salad Ever - Cranberry, Feta and Walnut

I'm obsessed with this salad. This is the kind of salad I order at restaurants but never thought I could recreate at home. Thankfully I was wrong.

The Best Salad Ever - Cranberry, Feta and Walnut

Before Christmas my friend Angela from Handmade in the Heartland shared a Facebook live on Mason Jar Salads. I was so intrigued. Jacob and I both struggle with new options for lunch and the thought of spending less than an hour on Sunday and having lunch for the full week was magical; I knew I had to try it.

I popped over to Target and bought the jars. The 32 ounce wide-mouth jars work perfectly. They hold the perfect amount for lunch and are easy to dump out onto a plate/bowl at work. So once I had the jars I needed the prefect recipe and this is it.

Blind Box BBQ in Kansas City

Jacob and I are on a quest to try all the BBQ spots in Kansas City. It will probably take us 10 years but we're up for the challenge.

I've had Blind Box BBQ on my list for months so that was our first stop. They describe themselves as "...old school BBQ with a modern twist" and I totally agree. The restaurant atmosphere was perfection - servers wearing fun bow ties, beautiful wood tables, industrial lighting and light music playing in the background. As a marketing nerd I also really appreciated their overall branding, menu layout and style.

Week Nights with Barber Foods

Thank you to my friends at Barber Foods for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Week Nights with Barber Foods

Here's what typically happens in our house at dinner:

Me: I made this delicious main dish!
Jacob: Great! Where are the sides?
Me: Well the main dish took too long so that's all you get.

Most nights I'm just happy I got a main dish prepared. Jacob typically doesn't get home until 7:00 ish and after a long day at work the last thing I want to do is stand in the kitchen for hours. Plus, Henry needs lots of attention and also the Bachelor. Priorities.
