Okay, I know this recipe is probably all over the internet and many of you have already made these delicious little crackers but I'm posting it anyway. :) I had never made this quick little treat and knew I needed to add it to my recipe collection.
My memories of Ranch and Dill Oyster Crackers are all very similar. I remember seeing them sold for .50 a bag at church bake sales, farmers markets, or fundraisers. And they were usually sold by ladies in their late 70's. Each purchased bag was equally delicious.
Well, I'm not in my 70's or preparing for a church rummage sale, but I do like quick and easy snacks. So here you go!
Ranch and Dill Oyster Crackers
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
16-20 ounces Oyster Crackers
1 packet (1 ounce) Ranch Salad Dressing Mix
1/2 teaspoon Dill Weed
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder (optional)
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Place crackers in a ziplock back. Pour oil over crackers, seal bag, and toss to coat crackers. Open bag and add ranch seasoning, dill weed, and garlic powder (optional). Seal bag and toss to coat crackers.
Pour contents of bag onto prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven, toss the crackers around, and then bake additional 5 to 10 minutes. (Total baking time is 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.)
Allow crackers to cool and then store in an airtight container.
