It's been a few years since I've made this caramel apple salsa. I've really been trying to clean out my cupboards and use what I have on hand and luckily I had the fixin's for this yummy dip.
Plus, I knew it would be a good Super Bowl watching snack, and I was right. It's super simple to make, especially if you have a food chopper, and it's almost healthy.
Caramel Apple Salsa
1 medium granny smith apple
1 medium red apple
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Cinnamon Graham Crackers for serving.
Place juice of 1 lemon in a medium bowl. Core and chop apples into small pieces and add to lemon juice. (Lemon juice will prevent apples from browning.) Add dried cranberries, caramel topping, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to chill and allow flavors to marry. Serve with cinnamon graham crackers, animal crackers, vanilla wafers, or cinnamon-sugar pita chips.
