Whatcha Doin’ Now?: Enjoying a Nebraska Favorite, Runza

Runza.

That word probably only means something to you if you are from Nebraska or know someone from Nebraska.  Well, Runza is the best fast food spot in Nebraska.  They are known for their Runza’s, which is homemade dough filled with ground beef and cabbage.  I know it sounds weird, but it’s delicious, especially dipped in ranch.  Their onion rings are also a must.

Jacob and I are from Nebraska so we are both Runza supporters.  Growing up in Wahoo (population 3500 ish) we only had a few fast food joints so we frequently visited with family and friends.

Runza is mainly in Nebraska, but they do have a couple locations in Iowa, Colorado, and Kansas.  I’m still baffled as to why the rest of the world hasn’t demanded a Runza in their town, but maybe that’s what makes it so good.

Lucky for us, we are only about 20 minutes from the Mission, KS Runza.  That is normally a long drive for fast food but it’s totally worth it.

If you’re ever near a Runza make sure to stop!  Order a burger, original Runza, fries, onion rings, and ranch.  That will give you a little of everything.  For the healthy, their salads are also delicious.
