Whatcha Doin’ Now?: DIY Jewelry Storage

I love bracelets.  They make me happy.  But the way I had them organized was lame.  So, after looking for inspiration on Pinterest I decided frames with cork backing would be perfect!

What You Need:
Frames in any size you like. Thrift stores are the best place to look.  I only spent about $8.00 on all, including the cute mirror.  Picture frames or frames with removable backs work best.

Cork Board. I found a cheaper roll of cork at Target in the office/art section.  It worked perfect for the size of frames I had.  Joann has larger sheets but they do cost a bit more.

Spray Paint. I used glossy because I wanted that look, but I think any would work.

Exacto Knife. Makes cutting the cork to size a breeze.

Push Pins.  I wish I would have found cuter ones, but I picked up the ‘wood’ push pins at Wal-Mart.

How To:
Spray paint your frames to your desired color.  Allow a day for drying time.

Using the backing or glass from the frame, trace and cut your cork to fit the inside of each frame.

Attach the cork to the backing of the frame with glue, scrapbook adhesive, or another adhesive.

Place cork backing in the frame.  I found it easier to push in the pins BEFORE hanging on the wall.  Hang your jewelry and you're done!

This was a super fun little project and now my bracelets have a nice home.

OH – there is still time to enter my giveway!  You could win a box of baking goodies including recipe cards, dessert boxes, cupcake liners, Cake Stripes, and more.  Here is a sneak peek of some of the goodies….
